Users & Keys

This section provides information on managing access to the platform either for users through the UI or for the generation of API keys to get access to the external API. The combined application of these functionalities is intended to support the application of least privileged access to human users as well as machine to machine interactions with the platform.

The following capabilities are available.

  • User Management : Addition of users to the platform and configuration of authentication mechanisms

  • API Keys : Creation of API keys and assignment of API roles to limit access

  • User Roles : Roles restrict access to specific functionality in the platform to ensure that users an view and interact with the elements that are required for their function.

  • User Scopes : Scope limit access to groups of devices or users to ensure that they can access the relevant data associated to their function and to reduce the likelihood of data exposure.
